velvet elvis

yes that is rob bell’s -velvet elvis-repainting the christian faith. i just finished it and it rocked my world. if you have never read this book stop reading my blog and go get it now!! now go! if you have read it then you see where i am coming from. my life has changed so much by reading this book. i love it cause it is encouraging, challenging, and gets you on fire to serve God more, minister to your community and those around. the part i like best is in the beginning it says “the challenge for christians then is to live with great passion and conviction, remaining open and flexible, aware that this life is not the last painting.”that is so true. to do a work and see things change but not know what  the real big impact you are making in one life that could start a movement that you may never see. its awsome to allow God to have that much control.

2 years ago i was introduced to the contemporary type church that is now being a big impact in the world. i’m glad i got involved in this process of “being the church”. to do what God has called me and my family to do, serve and help out the community and people who have lost thier desire for God or who just don’t go to church at all. to show them there is hope and life through Jesus Christ. i have an awsome opportunity to do this in savannah and i am pumped up and excited to get going.

ADVENTURE

Going to Savannah. Thats how i will start this blog off. so me, the wifey, and the little one have been called to moving to Savannah to help out with CanVas church. i have been denying this for around 2 month now.You can only deny and say no to God for so long before He starts showing that you should go everywhere you look.(“Hello McFly!”).  so now we are starting this (what i call an Adventure) to help the community of Savannah.

Adventure-{undertaking usually involving danger and unknown risk}. the danger that i am leaving a community that i have lived in for 25 years. 25 years of risk-free, knowing everyone, and comfort. going down and relocating my family,  relocate jobs, to a place i know nothing about

Adventure-{an exciting and remarkable experience}now that is what i call comfort. comfort that God is doing this, not me, i’m just along for the ride. it’s going to be exciting what a remarkable change God is going to make on Savannah. i am just amazed that he has called us to be apert of this experience.

In Acts, God tells Paul, to GO,GO,GO!

acts 22:10 “Get up and go into Demascus, and there you will be told about everything that is assigned for you to do”

acts23:11 “Have courage! For as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

So i am leaving thie community i have ministered in for 25 years to go to Savannah to minister to that community for how ever God allows me to. Go to Savannah to do whatever i am assigned to do for the people of the community. So my families adventure starts here, an exciting and remarkable experience, that God is going to be in control of
